We went out to Austin, TX over the summer with Oakley to hang out, film, shoot photos with Chase Hawk, and put together some features on Defgrip to introduce him to the Oakley team. During our weekend in Austin, we just chilled, rode, swam, partied, and brought the camera with us every where we went. During the shoot, Chase was riding a custom built Cult frame, built up with Odyssey products, and some custom Oakley graphics. A good solid doodle with The Flintstones? Why Google celebrates The Flintstones today? ”The Flintstones” inside a original version came on screens half a century ago, despite outfits straight out of the Paleolithic. It’s hard to put into words how special it is to be a part of something like the Ride BMX NORA Cup, and watching it on a small window on your computer will never compare to being there in person, but if you weren’t one of the thousands of lucky riders that was in Las Vegas last night, at least you can see what you missed right here. The photo above shows our current stock of Slim by Four brake pad offerings. There have been lots of inquiries about the pads, so read on for more info.
Most of the mail that we get asks the same question; “Which pad is best for me?” So, with that said, please continue reading for a breakdown on each pad.
Black – Normal Compound. Best overall pad for most riders. Can also be found on our Evo 2 Brakes.
Red – Medium Compound. More “grip”, with less “feather” than black pads.
Clear – Soft Compound. Most “grip” due to the extra-soft rubber durometer that is used. Ideal for our powder coated rims.
Gum – Soft Compound. Performs similar to clear.
The Slim by Four has a custom designed inner frame and a fully symmetrical BMX-specific shape designed for braking while rolling in forward and reverse.
Please note that the soft clear pads may still wear through the finish on powder coated rims over time, but they will not leave the “black streaks” that can result from using ordinary pads.
For those finicky riders constantly in search of dialed brakes, choosing the correct pad for your set-up can make all the difference.

he tablet, which some inside RIM are calling the BlackPad, is scheduled for release in the fourth quarter of this year, these people said. It will feature a seven-inch touch screen and one or two built-in cameras, they said.
It will have Bluetooth and broadband connections but will only be able to connect to cellular networks through a BlackBerry smartphone, these people said. Since the tablet won't be sold with a cellular service, it's not clear which carriers or retailers will sell the device.

Tornado In Queens:Flash storm, tornado warnings for being powered via the newest York evening Gorod Thursday, with winds approximately 70 miles-per-hour demolition of trees, damaging buildings and destroying cars and allowing the death for at least a single person.Severe weather wreaked damage to the transportation system of one's city in the center of the evening commute. All Long Island Rail Road service was suspended from Manhattan in association withthe downed trees on tracks near Sunnyside, Queens. LIRR service was also disrupted among Brooklyn and Queens, and only 7 subway line has been out for several hours.

Some roads were closed to vehicular traffic due to debris. Women was killed when a real tree toppled on her car around the Grand Central Parkway near Jewel Avenue, authorities said.

The storm and knocked out power to in excess of 24000 customers in Queens and 4800 households in Staten Island, as per Con Edison. Over 570 customers were without power in Brooklyn. Nj government officials say about 40.000 households were without electricity due to the storm.

Almost an hour after the storm passed, the 911 boards were swamped with calls by injury, however was unclear how many were considered serious, the representative on the Fire Department said. The spokesman said several firefighters taken care of immediately the scene in Queens and Brooklyn, where motorists were stuck in a car, after tree falls about them.

Aaron Donovan, Metropolitan Transportation Authority spokesman urged the LIRR passengers to “sit tight at the moment” rather than head to the station, Penn Station or Jamaica.
