 The Nationwide Better Health Columbus Marathon started this morning at 7:30 am, when 15,000 citizens were prepared give their best at this already classic race. The starting line was close to the intersection of Broad and Third Streets in downtown Columbus and the event was sold out at 5,000 participants. The 2010 Columbus Marathonstood a new Corral Start system. There will be awards for winners from different age groups, for the top three in marathon and half marathon and top three in each generation. In the 2009 edition, the Columbus Marathon winners were Matt Folk, Perrysburg OH, with a time period of 2:20:45 and Rachel Kinsman, Archbold OH with 2:47:44. The Columbus marathon is also one of the nation’s top chair racing marathons, united kingdom top racers being present. In 2009, the champions were Dane Pilon, Fayetteville – hand cyle course record, Carly Waugh, Knoxville, TN - hand cycle and Jeffrey Fisher, Medina, OH – wheelchair.
