PLUM ISLAND (FOX 25 / MyFoxBoston.com) - Heavy rain and wind is prompting erosion concerns on Plum Island.

For weeks, crews have always been dredging sand in an attempt to protect the already fragile coastline which includes been slowly falling directly into ocean.

Meanwhile, an enormous dredging project on Plum Island is defined to conclude up today, just in time for the stormy weather.

At this point, the-year project has added about 150 new feet of coastline towards battered island. Some residents fear today's storm works as a set-within the effort.

Emergency crews are stored on standby for fear that flooding occurs.
